Update on Travel to Malta from the UK and Ireland

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, since 22 December 2020 the Maltese Government has temporarily implemented a 14-day mandatory quarantine for passengers from the UK. Visitors returning to the UK from Malta, must self-isolate for 10 days on return and provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result taken up to 3 days before departure. Visitors to Malta can call 00356 2169 2447 for assistance in booking a pre departure test. Travellers entering Malta are required to take a PCR test no more than 72 hours prior to travel and will be subject to a PCR test on arrival in Malta. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) currently advise against all but essential travel to Malta. Temperatures are taken on arrival at Malta International Airport and travellers need to complete a new medical card declaring which countries they have visited in the last 30 days.
