Over the last few years the Maltese Islands have become a hub for the clubbing scene, attracting a number of popular and high profile music festivals for music lovers who love raving in the sun. Internationally renowned DJs like Paul Oakenfold, Erick Morillo, Magda, Tiesto, Van Heill appear for guest weekends throughout the year.
Below are a selection of festivals that take place in Malta.
Annie Mac’s Lost & Found
Building on the incredible success of its past years, Lost and Found festival keeps returning for bigger and better rounds in Malta each spring with a huge line-up of DJ’s and producers at poolside stages, boat parties and all-night raves. Isle of MTV
The annual Isle of MTV free live music event returns every year to il-Fosos Square in Floriana towards the end of June, welcoming an audience of approximately 50,000. The Isle of MTV Malta is unique in offering young people across Europe an exclusive opportunity to experience a world class line-up of artists for free. Past acts include the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Jess Glynne and Whiz Khalifa. Discover more here
Last September thousands from all-across the globe flocked to the Glitch house-and-techno fortress to bask in the light of the genre’s most celebrated heroes including Ben Klock, Len Faki, Carl Craig, Midland, Fatima Yamaha, Kink, Dave Clarke, Virginia, Gesaffelstein and Tom Trago.
The next chapter in Glitch Festival’s story promises an even bigger line-up of esteemed acts, multiple locations and the same special atmosphere which only the enigmatic Mediterranean island of Malta can deliver. Beyond the gates, deep within the Fortress walls, the sonic forces will be gathering on the 7th and 8th of September 2017 to take the fortress by storm.

Malta International Jazz Festival
The Malta International Jazz Festival takes place in July of every year. A line-up of top international and Maltese artists present an eclectic mix of jazz styles from the current musical scene. Learn more here.
Taking place annually in January, the Valletta International Baroque Festival has been conceived as a celebration of the baroque identity of Valletta. Centring around the Teatru Manoel – one of the oldest working theatres in Europe which also happens to be the only one in Europe that fulfils the role of a National Theatre – the Festival extends to the magnificence of St John’s Co-Cathedral, the atmospheric Valletta churches, the splendid Grandmasters’ Palace, the auberges and other baroque edifices.
Some of the best contemporary Baroque exponents of the moment, both from the international sphere as well as locally are secured for the Festival.

Nightlife on the Islands is always bustling, there are always scores of clubs to visit, excellent wine bars and first-rate restaurants to try.
The picturesque former fishing village of St Julian’s, just 20 minutes drive from Valletta, is now the entertainment capital of the island with numerous trendy bars, nightclubs and a plethora of restaurants crowned by the landmark Portomaso yacht marina which renews the town’s maritime tradition. The bay is particularly attractive at night and as a venue for open-air dining.
